Candide
or, Optimism at all costs

2021

Synopsis

In their salty, musical, irreverent style, the uber-talented Babolin ensemble bring Voltaire’s wickedly cheeky satire to glorious life.
The age of heroes has passed. The world, long since abandoned by its creator, has fallen into ruin. Candide, armed with unshakable optimism, must traverse the globe in search of the lovely Cunegonde. But will they survive in this, the "best" of all possible worlds?  Join our hearty Babolin crew for some sassy summer mayhem. Theatre was never so back.
Babolin theatre will be performing their second Not-The-Fringe show, this year live in The Robinson Theatre, Cambridge.

Under the direction of several seasoned and returning creatives, with the additional sparkle of a new designer, Candide or, Optimism At All Costs is guaranteed to be a success!
