Synopsis

Join Babolin as they move (seamlessly!) from stage to screen for this year’s Not-the-Fringe show. What better source material to shake off the doldrums of enforced not-acting in not-theatres than a knockabout nonsense play by master of surprises Alfred Jarry? We have taken his 120 year old play ‘Ubu Roi’ and exposed it to the imaginations of a fabulous group of storytellers who sing, dance, puppet, cartoon and manipulate. Some filmed in their homes, some in discrete locations (and some not so discrete) - join us to find out how as Babolin cast their irreverent celebratory eyes on the Bubus, living embodiment of all seven deadly sins at once, as they take a ludicrous and bloodthirsty route to power.

The film is full of branching choices that you will make, creating a unique experience with every path you choose to follow. Each journey through the story will take 15-20 minutes and you are invited to take as many as you like; there’s a lot to see.

"The show is undeniably innovative and creative, and it's good to know that political satire doesn't get put on hold by a pandemic"
